The SLAP ski instructor course is conducted at the Austrian village of Alpbach.

Alpbach is a well known Tyrolean ski resort in the Austrian Alps. It has numerous beginner and intermediate runs perfect for preparing for the ski instructing exam, as well as a range of runs suited to more advanced skiers.

The town of Alpbach dates back more than 500 years. The village has maintained it's character and architecture and has not been overwhelmed by development driven by the ski industry. It's a small town surrounded by farms, has a small number of shops and a range of restaurants and bars.

Skiing at Alpbach

The Alpbacher Bergbahnen (or Alpbach Lift Company) operates the lifts for the ski area. The ski area offers 1600m of vertical serviced by 18 lifts.

Getting to Alpbach

We offer a pickup from Innsbruck Airport on the 9th of January between 3 and 4pm, and can also pick up from Jenbach train station (an express train stop) at 5pm. If you are arriving earlier you will need to make your own way to Alpbach, but don't worry getting there is easy!

Innsbruck Airport: The nearest major airport to Alpbach is Innsbruck Airport which is 60kms away. As stated above, we offer a pick up from Innsbruck Airport on the 9th of January between 3 and 4pm, and can also pick up from Jenbach train station at 5pm. If you are going to arrive earlier you can catch a train from Innsbruck to Brixlegg. From Brixlegg it is possible to catch a Postbus to Alpbach. The bus will take about 25 minutes. A taxi service is also available from Brixlegg.

Munich Airport: Munich Airport is 130 km away. You can catch an express train from Munich to Wörgl, a regional train to Brixlegg. From Brixlegg it is possible to catch a Postbus to Alpbach. The bus will take about 25 minutes. A taxi service is also available from Brixlegg.

Salzburg Airport: Salzburg Airport is 150 km away. Catch the train from Salzburg to Brixlegg, usually an express from Salzburg to Wörgl and then a regional train to Brixlegg. From Brixlegg it is possible to catch a Postbus to Alpbach. The bus will take about 25 minutes. A taxi service is also available from Brixlegg.

Accommodation: Hotel Alphof

Accommodation for the course is at the four star Hotel Alphof. Rooms are share for 2 people and include an ensuite. All meals are included in the course, with breakfast and dinner served at the hotel. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool, sunbathing lawn, terrace, sauna, tanning beds and steam bath.
